Still plodding along!

I cannot believe how quickly the time disappears when I am having fun! Here we are at the end of January and Australia Day already - unbelievable! I have been stitching steadily for the past six days - mostly stitching this time and not unpicking as I did for half the previous week, fortunately. I am designing this as I go - I wish I could do otherwise. This means there is always the need to undo something when it is not right. I think it would be so good to be able to get it all on paper beforehand and then be able to concentrate on the stitches alone. Maybe that will improve with practice - here's hoping!

In between times I have been enjoying the work and blogs of people who have finished their TIF for January. I must share a site I happened to find while I was cruising around. It is a wonderful site on Assisi embroidery - something I have never tried but something that appeals to me . I think the appeal is based on the fact that in Assisi work it is only the negative space that is stitched. The site is extremely interesting and contains blackwork as well as Assisi. Anyway here is the site - enjoy.

Thanks so much for the Assisi link!! I have studied that in the past. I am really enjoying translating CQ into needlepoint, as I don't plan the embellishment on paper, as I do the painted canvases - makes it more of a challenge!! I never know what the outcome will be. I'm glad to find your blog - will watch it often.
